Small Home Gym coming along nicely.....

Well, I had asked some questions earlier this month on flooring etc for my home gym and got some great help so I figured I would post up stats as well as some pics of what has transpired thus far.

What I have:
About 24' x 18' of space to use (Need to buy more rubber mats for the last 6' or so to finish)
Power rack/cage
Smith Machine
Lat pulldown
Low row
Leg press
Seated calf raise
Approx 1500lbs of Olympic plates
Full set of Pro Style DB's from 25lbs to 140lbs
(I got a smoking deal on these, now just have to find a rack for them all)
Mirrors on 2 walls, have another 2-3 mirrors for the other wall coming soon.
16- 4' x 6' rubber mats

The floor really killed my budget, as that cost more than anything else, but in total I figure I have about $2200-2500 into everything so far.....
I have bought 90% of this stuff all on craigslist, within about a 50 mile radius of me.
It may not be the prettiest stuff, but it does the job!!

I still have room for 1, maybe 2 more machines/pieces so I am going to keep looking and choose wisely on them. I would love a plate loaded shoulder press or maybe an incline press to switch things up every so often....

Here are some pics, thanks for looking!!

thats awesom bro i cant wait til i get my own place and i can put together a nice home gym right now all i have is a power rack and the perfect pullup but i lift at a gym

awesome..

was just tellin my girlfriend lastnight that when we finally get our own place it HAS to have a basement for a home gym..
love it man, great job

$2200-$2500??? thats not bad at all!!

no cardio?? lol

how the heck did u get all of that home? trailer?

That looks awesome bro,I cant wait to have mine set up too. I have some really nice gym cardio equipment set aside for when I start putting it together.

danm dude, thats sweet, all nice stuff at pretty sick price, what state you live in..ny? figured major metro area if found all stuff on craigs since smaller areas the sports section on craigs sucks!

Nice job.

The flooring was worth it though....really stands out.

Thanks everyone. Its coming along.

I could have never afforded to do it buying new....some prices for new equipment are outrageous.

I thought about doing something with the ceiling, but I don't walk on it, train on it, or really give a shit what it looks like, so it can wait I guess....lol

As for my location, lets say near Philly, in what they like to call the armpit of the US..... :D
Pooldude should be familiar with the saying.

Believe it or not, an F350 with an 8' bed did it all. Even had the Smith, the lat pull, and the low row along with 500lbs of plates and a couple bars in the back all at once. That truck has definitely pulled its weight, literally.
Not to mention putting 3000lbs of DB's in the back of an E350 van, that thing was a lowrider in the rear. :D

I have a treadmill to bring down still, and I am looking for either a bike or an elliptical to compliment it. They will be going in the spot that doesn't have mats down just yet.....

I do personal training part-time as well, so I am thinking that I can use it for that as well for clients that don't go the gym I train at currently.

Just today, I bought the other mats to put down, bought material and reupholstered the leg press seat/back and made up new labels for the DB's as well as ordered a couple 3 tier 4' long racks to put them on.

Yea I agree..that is AWESOME!!!

looks like a blast for sure. i love the feeling of home gyms. No rule or regulations either

Wow..That is a great setup. The only thing I would get would be a flat bench. 2500??? That is unreal!! Those dumbells alone new would be close to that or more. Looking great....:D

Thanks again.

I will be getting a flat bench, just looking for the best deal....lol

Believe me, I have been telling anyone I know about these dumbbells.
I got the entire set for $400....
Granted, they were rusty and spider web ridden, but some steel wool, paint, and elbow grease is alot cheaper than buying a nice set of these.
Cheapest sets I was finding were used and went up to 80-100lbs for $800 plus....which means even more money than that for a set b/c I would need to find the 105s to the 140's.

Very jealous, that looks great!

I officially want a home gym now. Id love to be able to just workout at home, not share equipment etc.

Yeah, if H1N1 gets serious, home workouts may be safest until the bug gets under our control...
