Something fishy

I opened some new cans of tuna today. I noticed something different about the cans. The cans are now smaller 5 oz's vs. 6 oz's. So I went to the local grocery and checked. The more expense of tuna cans are still 6 oz's unless that is just what is what they have on the shelf. Just thought I would share.

You just noticed that? I have you looked at the ice cream lately, it is 1/2 the size. They are doing that to alot of products, who are they fooling?

Just read that in some of the peanut butter the package is the same size but it has a huge indention in the bottom to give you 1.7 oz less. F'ers!

About tuna, there's a real problem of shortage ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

Due to intense and ill-considered (abusive) fishing over the last years to supply demand, the species is unable to renew itself properly and is subsequently slowly dying (Japan first comes to mind...).

That's why measures have been taken at the world scale to reduce fishing quotas. Less supply & same demand = increased prices

It's the same here, tuna cans' price is increasing by the month...

All the starkist tuna I've seen in my area are in smaller cans & packs. I buy Bumblebee & Chicken of the Sea, since they're still normal size. I'm sure they will all be smaller soon.
Shit keeps getting smaller and smaller, coffee, laundry soap, cottage cheese, etc.

you should also weigh out your tuna, when you get drained and out of the can, it definitely isnt 2.5 servings like it says on the label...

any real shopper will tell you that the shelf label is not what you look at. read the small print on the shelf stating how much per ounce,or serving. that is how I make my purchases.

Yeah! What is up with this? They don't sell half gallons all of a sudden but the price is the same for half the amount.
