Hello professional muscle family. I need your advice regarding a diet named Special K or "the Special K diet." Does anyone have experience or information regarding the Special K diet? I have a female friend that recently started this diet and I'd like to know if it's any good or should she be directed to the old fashion (protein, carbs, fats) way of dieting?

Just to give you a bit of information on my friend. She's 5'3"-5'4", 26 yrs old, previous weight was 160 and current weight is 203lbs, has a 17 month baby boy and she drinks casually. Her goal is to get back to her original pre-pregnancy weight of 160-lbs.

Will the Special K diet do the trick?

the diet is pretty much eat a bowl of special k for breakfast and lunch (with skim milk) and eat a healthy dinner. typical crap diet high in carbs with mininmal protein - a ploy by kellogs to sell more of their product.

however it may be useful in a secondary way - the transition from eating total garbage to a regimented program of eating foods that arent crap (here in america eating foods that arent TOTAL CRAP is referred to as eating healthy). this transition from a garbage diet to a 'healthy' diet is a step toward change. the special k diet also recommends exercise. basically the name is erronious, just eat less crap and exercise

the special ketamine diet...just laze around drooling on yourself for days on end (or until your k runs out). Dont move, dont think, dont even be you.

Watch the pounds melt off! :D

This is the typical lack of knowledge by most who are out of shape. They blow up over the years (drinking does this too) and now, want a secret diet to get it off quick. News Flash! there is no secret or fad diets that work for long term. You need a well balanced diet all year around. Until this is done, you will never change your habits.

Nothing makes me laugh more, then when I am approached by people that tell me that I have a good metabolism, to stay lean. At 50, that metabolism left years ago. It takes constant good eating habits and consistancy.
