Strange Customs Experience

I had a strange customs experience today with a package I ordered from India. The package was sent via USPS express requiring a signature. I was tracking the package and it was in customs for over ten days and finally released. I recieved notice of attempted delivery by USPS but since I was not home they left pink slip saying package could be picked up at post office. I signed for package at post office and was handed a package that was taped with green US Customs tape. The package had clearly been opened but was resealed and taped with the customs tape. Whe I opened the package the contents were not inside but a Customs seizure letter was. Has anyone heard of this scenerio. I have heard of the package being taken and a Customs letter being sent but never customs sending the package having seized the contents and putting the seizure letter inside. Any info anyone might have is appreciated. Thanks

Yes. The same thing happened to me years ago back in 1994. The pack arrived with nothing in it but a letter from customs saying that package contained contraband and the contents were seized. A few weeks after that I received a registered/certified letter from Customs declaring they had seized my items.

I'm sure it's happened to everyone here. Normal customs procedure if you have no priors. Do not use your address to receive anything international from here on out as your address is now flagged. If you do you can expect a controlled delivery. With all this "steroids in baseball" bull shit going on right now, it wouldn't surprize me if Geoge Bush and the boys aren't looking to bust anyone no matter the amount. Be very careful!

hey guy don't take this the wrong way but that may be one of the dumbest things i have evert heard a person doing...your package was in customs for over 10 days and you knew that and then you get a pink slip to go get it..Hmm... and then of all thinsg you do you show up and pick it up...you are asking to get arrested...man i want everyone to be the best they can be but buddy get smarter in the game or were gonna read about you in the newspaper ..welcome to the board but don't ever do that again just so you know you are on a watch list so i woudl not order anything out of the states for atleast 6-9 months till your name comes off the hot list..good luck

exactly BBB, Get in the game and get more experiance under your belt and get a good Domestic. Customs are not easy anymore.
