A dear friend has recently started a hard running program for his new job. He is required to run 3-4 miles 3 times per week. He has extreme lower shin pain Medial Tibia stress. I am 99% sure he has stress fractures in both legs. He had no choice but to finish the running program for the next 9 months. He takes a ton of Advil however it only helps a little bit. Can HGH help with the stress fractures? Anything medications that can help?

He saw a specialist and recieved orthotics for his flat feet. Wears good running shoes reccomended by the doc. The doc said ice and ib are his only options. I was thinking HGH could help?

well if his new job is military he can get a no running profile fo a few weeks to let them heal up, if its true stress fractures and not shin splints then he might need moe time. Also dont lace the shoes tight, keep them a little loose especially up top to keep pressure off the tendons, that helped me alot

I have shin splints
they ll never completely go away in my case. I ve had them for the last 20 years. got them from running. I just use a different running technique now a focus mainly on the stationary bike.

sounds like me; marine training. cept i got Achilles tendonitis. just tell him to rest up for shin splints.

Tibial periostitis (shin splints) and other lower leg pains are the most common complaints in beginning runners. Usually the individual is overstriding and there is excessive emphasis on the heel strike phase of gait. It may be useful to vigorously stretch the calves, and use a foam roller for the anterior musculature. If he has a stress fracture HE MUST STOP RUNNING. Nine months of the same would be disastrous and a non-union fracture, or persistent stress fracture due to the formation of a bony callous will surely doom his chances of an active enjoyable lifestyle. I would have x-rays and possibly a bone scan done ASAP and take the guessing out of it. hGH! I don't think so..... Advil and other NSAIDs have been well documented to slow the healing process, so prolonged use is also a negative factor in healing. He must change his running form, try to stretch the calves, and release the tibialis anterior musculature for two weeks, then -re-evaluate. Best of luck.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Stress fractures for sure. HGH would not help the healing process?

Yes it will help, no it will not fix the problem. r-pGH will bump serum IGF-1 ---> increase in secondary fracture healing (bone mineral content, etc) ----> increase in mechanical strength (torsion, tension, compression) ---> helping your friend feel better and improve.

This would need to be a daily thing, and over a significant time period.

Thats what I figured. I will have him try High doses.
