stupid question

This maybe a stupid question but here goes. When I am off cycle I cut down my workouts by about 5-7 sets to avoid overtraining for the fact I feel without the aid my recovery isnt as quick. Would you agree with this or try and keep things the same?
 
there's no such thing as a stupid question...only stupid people who ask questions :D

I always trained the same no matter what I was "on"
 
5 TO 7 SETS ????? Thats what you should be cutting down on from the beginning.
 
If you are off your body cant recuperate and handle lots of reps and series, it is a good idea to reduce the sets to 5 to 7 per muscle group but keep the intensity and trying to move as heavy as possible.

You should eat very well too and be carefull about your body fat bc the body isnt the same without as.

So train hard, brief, infrecuent and safe....HIT is the best way in this case too.
 
By the way.....IT IS NOT AN STUPID QUESTION!!!! EVERY BODY DOES THE SAME MISTAKE AND BECAME OVERTRAIN OR LOOSE MASS AND WEIGHT....looking to a response that the body cant make in comparation when you are on as.

People off cicle add more reps, more sets and more training sesions confused about the stop or the progreess.

When you are off you loose muscular tone, but you can hold the muscle mass you have if you workout and eat smart, you just going to look different without the same density, but is good to your body, you can madure the mass you gain on cicle and when you start again the cicle you are going to explode .
 
confusing

In my years of training I have tried many different approaches. From heavy weight and low sets, high reps and volume, and so on and so on. I feel that I am still searching for what works best for me. The more I learn, the more I become confused.
