Last Friday I had surgery to replace a severely herniated C6-7 disc. The Dr. who is supposedly one of the best in the USA, removed the disc and fragments and replaced it with an artificial disc. Check it out at www.prestigedisc.com
I woke up in the recovery room and knew immediately that the pain was gone. All I could do was smile with happiness.
Yesterday, I slept through the night - 1st time in months. I walked 1/2 mile on Monday, and yesterday I walked a mile. It kicked my ass, I slept 2 hours afterwards.
I've been catching up on all the movies I have missed at the cinema, No Country for Old Men, Cloverfield, There Will Be Blood, The Mist, Before the Devil Know's You are Dead, and more.
I will go back to my family at the Gym this Monday. I will start my rehab the following Monday. I have lost 25lbs (not the kind I wanted) and have significant atrophy in my affected arm. I have a small amount of residual nerve damage, but should be able to overcome it with time, patience & persistence.
I look forward to the challenges ahead of me...
