Taking proviron only for low Testosterone???

A guy at work had his labs done in hopes of getting on prescription TRT , he was in the lower range but he Dr said it wasn't low enough to require testosterone injections so he was prescribed proviron at 50mg a day to raise his natural production , and after 6 weeks if it didn't come up then he would get scripted TRT.

Has anyone ever used Proviron for increasing there test levels?? Some reading I did on it says that some people use it for PCT. I've only ever used it for the last few weeks before a show and haven't done that is years. But some literature does say that it will elevate your testosterone levels.

It can slightly elevate free testosterone levels, but won't increase natural test. If he took it right before a blood draw (which he should not do) it might screw up the test and give the false impression of elevated natural test.

I had a doctor who put some people on clomid mono therapy which can raise natty test slightly through the LH pathway.

There is a third possibility... The doctor could know that the proviron might actually suppress natural t and get your friend below the threshold. The doctor in this case is covering his ass. My doctor said that if she prescribes hrt to someone who has sufficient natural test the insurance companies ask questions. Best to have the numbers low enough that it doesn't cause issues.

If the doctor actually prescribed Proviron to INCREASE Testosterone and expects this to happen on next labs, he needs to get a different job ASAP.
It's not overly suppressing at low doses, but thinking it would stimulate the HPTA is plain far-fetched.

Proviron increases my Free testosterone but not my actual Testosterone total levels on bloodkwork. I use Proviron instead of Testosterone for HRT because i don't want any estrogen conversion and i just love how it feels.

I find taking an anabolic steroid causes suppression not an increase in T production.

I didn't think it would have any positive impact on natural testosterone production at all , I guess maybe like mentioned above that the Dr is trying to drop his numbers some to justify to insurance the need for Testosterone therapy.
