tan advice...

im hearing so many conflicting things. pro tan can not be used w jantana. ect.
well here was my idea ive heard around. pro tan on thursday morining. wash it off tur nite and do another coat. fri morining rinse off again and put on another coat. fri evening, rinse off use loofa and jan tana scrub and jan tana lotion.....dry and get sprayed w jantana. touch up sat morinng. and use jantana gel. now can the jantana and pro tan cross rect and cause a funky color which would look like crap or....will it just make me darker. i think i remember !beserker doing something like this but adding a dreamtan typ thing also.

Hi lucian!
In my experience, Pro Tan and Jan Tana do not react badly to each other. I usually have one coat of pro tan base and do not shower, then multiple (about 5 or so since i'm so white!) coats of jan tana over it. I usually start the tanning process on friday afternoon for a saturday morning prejudging. my last 2 coats go on the morning of the show.The week leading up to getting colored, I used the Jan Tana scrub & moisturizer daily.
The only tanning problems i've had is putting Jan Tana over top of "left over" jan tana already on my skin. I did 3 competitions within several weeks of each other and the tanner takes a while to get off of my skin. We did a coat of jan tana over top of old jan tana and it made the old jan tana flake off funny and cause really dark spots. So, i had to scrub all of that off, then start over

thanks cslim. did you also use the jantana gel/oil?
im so pale, if i was any whiter id be transparent.
so im thinking bout using the protan first.

question:

i am a fellow whitey. like very white. tanning basically is useless for me, i may get like 5% darker but i dont look tanned, just less translucent lol.

Do you competitors that are white like me tan before using these tanning products like janatana? does it make a difference? or will this stuff take you from WHITE to "show tanned"

Im asking cause the thought of competing has crossed my mind and i never knew what would be required to get dark

I am WHITE. All day in the sun and I will burn and BARELY turn tan. Just spent all day in the sun at the USA's and not a single tan line! lol! So, therefore, going to a tanning bed prior to using the show tan is useless for me. I just don't tan.
So, the pro tan base with multiple coats of jan tana worked and multiple coats of the jan tana without pro tan base worked as well. The jan tana foam applied with their applicators works well and the protan applied with latex free sponges allows the skin to soak it in.

i use the jan tana glaze applied with gloves prior to stepping on stage.

I concur! It really takes a full week or more to get rid of the last traces of Jan Tana. Sauna and INTENSE skin exfoliating helps speeding up the process, but it still takes quite some time for your natural color to come back.
