Terrable pain in my Elbows~Triceps
Its in my tris but just above my elbows, Everytime I try any
extensions or pushdowns. Been goin on for about a week.
I dont mean the good kinda hurt burnin sensation I mean the bad
pain like Im tearin s/thing even if I try to go easy on em~..
Should I give the tris A break for awile? doesnt seem to bother me when I train chest or shoulders only when I isolate them?
Also what do you guys take for pain? I just need somthin to kill the pain long enough to workem out. Maybe itll just pass on?

I have had the same pain in my elbows for years now where I cannot do skull crushers at all due to the pain(I used to suffer through them but it is too much for me now). It seems to somewhat go away when I am on shit but when off it comes back hard. The pain is located directly above the elbow and my theory is that it is some sort of calcific buildup but even though I am in the medical rehab field I have not been able to find anyone that knows for sure what it is.

I have bicep tendonitus, and the pain sounds very much like what I suffer. I wear a pair of neoprene elbow sleaves, like an American Footballer, playing on Astroturf, would wear; with a product like IcyHot or Flexall applied to the lower bicep and Tricep. Try adding in some hammer curls and forearm work to strengthen the tendon too.

My problem sounds similar. Ive had pain leading to bursitis. And tricep isolation was out of the question. When it started affecting bench and should press, I had to give it a rest. I came back and went wider on presses. It helped, but I finally tore (partially) it. But it was a tead-turned upper arm all purple. The area has not completely healed-Im not sure it ever will. there is a protrusion by the elbow and above. And the muscle does not get as hard or big as it should. The injury was six months ago. But I now can do some direct tricep work like seated dip machine, close grip smith machine bench, that machine that simulates nosebreakers that you sit straight up in and have a shoulder width grip. If I were you-no direct tricep training. for awhile, and widen up a little on your pressing motions. Use Aleve/Naprosyn for pain-inflamation reduction. Dont get caught up in pain killers.

Take it easy on them for a week or two. And order up a good pair of elbow sleeves. You'll be glad you did.

I'm experimenting with a product called EPF-5. It's a linament product for horses. I bought it at a Tack store for $23. There is another one called Equi-tite that works great too but I can't get it here. Niether product smells bad or burns the skin. PB

It sounds like you are overtrained. Take some days off. My elbow was wurting a while back so I took 5 days off and when I returned I did not work tri's directly for a month. They just got stimulation from from benching and shoulder press. Now my tri's feel brand new again.

Dont ignore your body, when it tels you that some thing is rong!
train on paynkillers and you might end up injuryt!
after all a 2 or 3 weeks brake from triseps traning will make no difrens in the lorng run, a injury will!
give it the time it needs.

Listen to your body and adjust accordingly. Don't rely on pain killers, etc... to take care of the problem. As you get older, you will find out that your body won't or can't respond the way that you were used to. Take some time off to let it heal. Then modify your workout. First, try pre-exhaust by starting with pressdown (hi rep to failure). By then, your tricep should be warmup enough for your other movement such as skull crusher, close grip bench, etc... You should also do pressdown or somekind of light tricep exercise before shoulder and chest workout.
Good luck,
Mr Florida

Thanks for the advice fellas~
I gave em a break from any direct isolation for a couple weeks.
Now the pain is still there at first but seems to get better if I
just work through it. Atleast now its tollerable.
Im blamin it on the skull cruhsers. lol gotta love~em though

Same deal happened to me!
Left elbow, pain on the inside, nearest the body with arms hanging at the sides....elbow kept swelling up...lots of pain. I rested it and it got better. I think it's still screwed up though...like it's just waiting to hurt again.

i have had elbows problems for a long while. when it acts up, i avoid tri's and let the pain die down, when i came off the juice after a long ass run on, my shit hurt like hell. ELBOW wraps. its the only way. i found that after coming off juice i have tons of joint issues. my inner thigh/groin is all jacked, some days cant even walk right, yet, when i juiced, (even in between cycles) i was fine. only after being off a few months did i start to really hurt. i just trained through all this shit. had to keep the size.

hmmm
This sounds EXACTLY what happened to me after my suspension cycle. My strength went through the f'n roof and then beyond. More then ever before, so me being stupid, kept going heavier and heavier. My fav excercise was dumbbell tricep extensions, so use to be able to rep out 140's no prob (for my size, huge weight) when I was on the susp. But as soon as I came off, the pain was unbearable. So went to the doctor and he explained exactly what I did. It basically is a stretching and inflammation of where your tricep connects to your elbow. He put me on physical therapy (heat, ultrasound, etc) to get rid of the pain. I couldn't do tri's for 2 months and then another 2 months after that before I could do tricep extensions again, even light.
By the way, are you talking about cortizone shots to get the swelling down and the pain gone??? If so, I asked the doc about this as well, and they said they rarely ever shoot the elbows with cortizone, cause it makes the tendons weaker and they are already small to begin with. So very easy to tear and fuck up real bad.
So I say cut back on the tri's, rest some, and load up on ibuprofen.
