My last blood test my test levels were low. I see an endo for my diabetes.

I had a check up at a regular physicians office and he saw the results and asked if my endo was doing anything about, which she is not.

This is the second time my Test levels have come back low. I dont have it in front of me but on this test 1.7 Was the low end of normal, and mine was 1.2

I am 24 and sick of having the sex drive of a 70 year old (been like that for about 1 to 1.5 years now), needing to take naps every day. I think because I workout my DR won't help me out. I have expressed these concerns for a year now...

Anyone have any advice? I am going to see her on Wednesday. Or anyone know of any good Endo's that specialize in Diabetes and other Hormones in the Upstate NY area?

thanks for the help guys

I feel for you. I have a 55 year old client who has very low levels, went to see and endo, had numerous test and was told," It's the very low end of normal so no testosterone for you." Amazing how even so called experts can be incredibly dismissive of a patients anguish. My advice to him as my advice to you is go see someone else.

Peer reviewed data...

Doctors may be more willing to help you if you take some legit data with you to your appointment. If she is still unwilling to help, find a new doctor! They are in essence your employee as you are paying them. Business that has bad customer service loses customers!

My advice, go to a doctor that specializes in HRT therapy. Please do not use these on line quacks.

Have you addressed this with the endo??
That is the place to be for this treatment. The HRT clinics are all pretty much out of pocket(no insurance) and VERY expensive.

I am in your same boat as far as being diabetic with low testosterone.I found you need to be very vocal and persistant.
I started with the gel and wasn't happy. Now have worked up to a comfortable effective dose of cypionate. It takes time and persistance to get your plan all in place.Good luck

I don't know if it will help but here is a link explaining how normalizing your testosterone will help your diabetes; print it out and give it to your doc:

**broken link removed**

Also, I need to check with a friend as I forget what part of upstate NY he is in; but I may have a doc for you.

You will prob. end up doing some leg work, but it's worth it. Some Dr's don't understand and end up being more of a pain in the ass than anything.

I say Dr. shop...Find the right one for you...Like I said, it takes some effort, but it will be worth it in the end.

The majority of Endos understand the relationship between diabetes and testosterone BUT most general practictioners are clueless.

Fire your doctor and get a new one. If you get your test result, take them to the new doctor. I did the same thing and am better for it. I go to a doctor that specializes in internal medicine.

low test levels can very hazardous to your health. Like everyone else just said, shop around. You WILL find a dr. that understands. Good luck.

Tyrone is right. It took me 3 Doctor's until the last one referred me to a Urologist, who put me on Testim. But to be honest, although I felt better, my sex drive didn't return until I went on my first cycle in like 15 years.

Low-normal should still be prescribed IMHO. It's a bell curve not a square wave. You want to be near the middle. It's not a square wave where once you cross that bottom threshold you automatically feel normal. Find a new doctor.

Ask your primary care doc if he can give you a referral to a HRT specialist. The fact that he questioned your levels says a lot and you are only 24.

I agree as you are below normal on any chart and are a candidate for treatment.

Go Doctor shopping !!! Good luck !
P,S. Be very friendly when speaking with new Doc and be honest. I found out when Doctor shopping myself , that the nicer I was the better the outcome !
