I am getting back into lifting heavy and going to follow the Texas Method for a little while.

Goal of program increase strength on the Big 3 lifts


I was thinking instead of deadlifts every week, do deads one week then rack pulls the next?

Or would you just deadlift every week?
 
I think doing rack pulls once in a while is beneficial. However, I'd probably do them every third workout or so.
 
I dont think it would hurt unless they have you doing certain percentages every week ... I used to do rack pulls heavy then do deficits or deads with 35lb plates for high reps one week and the next heavy regular deads and that worked great for quite some time
 
Well the way that Ripptoe originally wrote the program was he had you deadlifting twice a week, but on the Monday it was simply one set of 5 reps at about 80%... then the next session was an all out set of 5 , or sets of 3s or 1s... I think I would add the rack pulls in on the first day personally.
