Here is an article by the SFgate newspaper that describes the Arnold Classic as a drug infested event and calls out Governor Schwazeneggar as a hypocrite when it comes to steroid use.
While we do know that excessive steroid use can be harmful it would seem the article really has to stretch to find the LONG growing list of dead bodybuilders ie...they are still referring to Mo. Benaziza's death (wasnt that almost 20 years ago ?) It would appear that bodybuilding may be seeking a more public face and with that comes the need to appeal to society....ie...more mainstream conditioning and physique size. (notice the emphasis the article puts on freakiness and even goes as far as to call the competitors grotesque based on an observers opinion....)
Interesting.
