THEN EXPLAIN THIS TO ME PLEASE.

1. Grab a calculator. (You won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2

I know that "you're" is the contracted form of "you are," I was just typing quickly (for those people who are anal about it).

Broken down:

Phone Number = ((((x*80)+1)*250)+2*y-250)/2
(((x*80*250)+1*250)+2*y-250)/2
((x*80*250) + 250 + 2*y - 250)/2
((x*80*250) + 2*y)/2
x*40*250 + y
x*10000 + y

So if x = 123 and y = 2345, then
Phone Number = 1230000 + 2345 = 1232345

Think of the first three digits of your phone as "x"
Think of the last four digits of your number as "y"

Here is the math you did on your calculator
"x" times 80 + 1 times 250 + y + y - 250 divided by 2
Which when simplified would be (20,000"x" + 250 + 2"y" - 250) divided by 2
Which when simplified more would be 10,000 "x" + y
In other words, you took your first three digits times 10,000, which just moves them left 4 places and then you added your last four digits to the end, which tada, gives you your phone number.

EXAMPLE 555 times 10,000 is 5,550,000
5,550,000 plus 1234 is 5,551,234 or 555-1234

Kaiser you mean you actually paid attention in algebra class when they were teaching us how to "foil" lol!!!
Actually I really wish I was better at math than I am, as I get deeper into the business world and starting my own business, numbers are EVERYTHING....
