Thoughts and prayers for a fellow athlete

A friend of mine Adam, (and I know quite a few on the board know him and his wife Lori as well) a competative bodybuilder within the NPC, has a tumor taking up 80% of his liver and unless there is a transplant opportunity VERY quickly, things are looking quite bad to say the least.

Any thoughts and prayers for him, his wife and family would be appreciated.

Wow. That's a heavy burden he's dealing with. My worst fear is a problem with my liver. I wish him a healing miarcle from God.

It was a good time. Lotsa laughs at the table and for many reasons. We went to see the Hulk and Batman movies when they came out, he is another comic book buff too.

I had hoped it was just a rumor as well too until I heard from Lori. I tried calling him this weekend but never did hear back. They are going through quite a bit right now so it is understandable and I am sure he will call when he can/wants.

Prayers for your friend bro. Are they sure that it is a tumor? The reason I ask is that I know a guy who had the same diagnoses as your friend. They told him that he had a liver tumor that was taking up almost all of the liver (over 80%) and he was lucky to be alive, in fact they told him that he had less than month to live. The only symptom was some pain in his side. It turned out the Dr was wrong. What he had was a very large cyst!! Once they drained it (almost a liter) he eventually recovered.

Thanks Magnum. Unfortunately it is cancer and inoperable. They have been to the Cleveland Clinic and a couple other hospitals seeking hope but no luck yet. Thats why he is on the donor list now.

Damn, sorry bro. My dad had primary liver cancer and it is extremely rare. Something like 1 or 2% of the pop. get it if I am remembeing correctly although I may be wrong about the stats.
