I thought this might interest you. I take NAC on and off for liver purposes and I was actually searching the internet for a purer pharmaceutical grade when i came across this article.

Its basically saying that they found that N-acetyl cysteine at high doses causes pulmonary artery hypertension which is a pretty nasty condition.

Just though some of you might be on it, and if so you can read and make your own decisions.

Just stay under 1000mgs per day and it is OK.
I saw some stuff on animals board and that was the conclusion.

This is my thinking.. you put the risk to benefit ratio, NAC is used to generate reduced glutathione in liver which in turn helps oxidative damage. And so its used for tylenol toxicity.

I dont even know if it has much use for bodybuilders, specially natural bodybuilders. (even enhanced bbers, does steroid damage liver by oxidative stress/ generating toxic by products? I am 99% sure that steroids don't put stress on liver like that). However I was taking it thinking well this cant be too bad if its just an anti oxidant/ amino acid with a N- acetyl attached. But i dont even know if its providing me with any real benefit. so why load the body with it.

Risk: pulmonary hypertension

Benefits: Dont really know much related to AAS use or bodybuilding. Even if there are they are minor enough to not over weight Pulm. hyptn.

So i decided to stop..


Not an argument, just letting my thought be known cause i see a lot of information on board like oh well its good under 1000mg. Oh well Test E will not be dangerous if you stay under 250mg/week for the rest of your life.

I mean who really comes up with these numbers. its more peoples wishful thinking then real science.
 
good point, its lke overkill coverage mentality

but you are right if there is a study done on 17aa AAS users and NAC and the liver values,,,doubt it.

NAC alone used to give me diarrhea lol, i do it eod or once in awhile...since im taking milk thistle anyways.
