Trainers for women

I know we have some great trainers here. I am using one myself and would recommend him to anyone that asked (Phil BTW). My question is, "Is it better for a figure girl to go with a trainer that focuses on just competitive figure models?" My girl has competed and wants to keep doing so but it is edgy on who she trusts as we've both been fleeced before.
