Training Routine for Meet in April 2010

I've been considering entering a meet in April 2010. I've competed before and want to go one more time to see if I can hit some PR's, not to mention I enjoy being in the meets with all the camaraderie. Powerlifters kick ass and really help each other out which is what really makes our sport great. I’ve been out of training the last couple of months due to some health issues, but I haven’t lost much and I’m cleared to train again.

I have approximately 19 weeks to go and was thinking of 2, 9 week cycles to peak. What do you guys think? What's my best approach?

Stats:
220lbs currently but would like to go in at 198
Bench 420
Squat 600
DL 590

Any help would be appreciated.

i would make the first 9 weeks general conditioning and not try to peak. that way when you go into your power routine you will be fresh and you wont have to worry about your body getting tried and crashing.
 
Conjugate Method has worked great for all the powerlifters i know
 
conjugate is great for any kind of training becuase it requires you to change your lifts every week, so you never do the same routine twice. what a lot of powerlifters use is a circa max principle, westside-barbell.com has a lot of articles on both conjugate and circa max since thats what makes up the bulk of the "westside routine." if you're going to do a routine like that then you need to make sure to deload every third week to allow your body to recover.
