So how was the fight? I assume Tyson must have been getting his ass kicked if he just gave up. I'm surprised. He took a hell of a beating from Lennox Lewis, but he never quit.

I didnt see it, I just heard them talking about it afterwards with Rockman on espn.

They said in round 6 he give an intentional headbutt and a few armbars
in frustration... then didnt answer the bell for round 7

They talked like he came out Firing and was actually ahead in the fight
But then the guys was starting to get some shots in.. I think he probably wore him down and in the end he ran out of gas-heart.

I think he seen he couldnt knock him out and just give it up.

I just wish that all those years ago, Tyson would have kept his head on straight and stayed focused. It would have been awesome to see what he would have become if he stayed geared towards maximizing his potential instead of getting lost in so much other shit. If he put his full heart into it, I think he could have easily been the best boxer ever. He had the ability, just not the focus or the heart. Waaaay too mentally unstable.

My guess is the anti deprssants took away his drive. I know my dedication to the gym has gone down hill since i started taking effexor. Doc told me this was a side effect too, said it would make me a worse bodybuilder.

I saw this fight man it was sad. Tyson still has a record of 50 wins, 6 loses, 2 draws, and 44 by knock out. Fuck!! He looked liked a man with no spirit at all. He became a mental mess in later years, seemed to make no sense in interviews at times. Was angry and depressed it seemed. Prior to the Buster Douglas fight (his first pro loss) and his divorce from Robin Givens, he was the baddest mofo on the planet. Then after he lost that fight, his life started getting to be a mess, rape charges, going to jail, etc... he just was never the same fighter. This dude made a ton of cash in his career and blew it all, so he's had no choice but to keep trying to stage some sort of come back. Too bad most fighters are such idiots at managing their money (couple exceptions, george foreman, larry holmes,)... I remember seeing a documentary on Leon Spinkes, that dude made over $8M during his career, and now he's a janitor cleaning toilets and sweeping floors for a living. Shit how many of us would be working if we made $8M over a few years? These dudes spend it like it's never going to end and when it does they're practically homeless. I believe Tyson will be headed that way soon enough, broke ass and pathetic... Man what a sad, sad, way to go out...

Back in his prime, he was the baddest mofo on the planet. Any idea on how many of those knock outs were 1st round? If memory serves me correctly it was quite a few.
