I bought myself a home unit last May. It's great for dealing with persistent injuries and problem spots.

Three 10 minute sessions per day, for the first 6 days on acute injuries. Two 10 minute sessions twice per week on chronic injuries.

Add in some deep tissue massage and plenty of stretching (after the acute stage) and you will be happy with the results.

I have a chronic hamstring/calf injury I have been wanting to try this on as well as a new shoulder injury. I think I will get one this week and give it a go.

I have been stretching the hamstring/calf area as well as foam roller, alternating heat/ice, and massge with no real improvement.

Time for something new!

I bought one about 8 months ago. Best money I've ever spent. I'm able to train with more weight and range of motion than I have been in the 10 years after my pec rupture. Injuries that normally persist for months are gone in a few weeks. The above post is exactly what I do.

I use it on my patients for healing of soft tissue injuries. 1.0-1.5 watts/cm2 for 5-10 minutes. Keep the head moving with plenty of lube to avoid unwanted heating of underlying tissues. Avoid bony prominences..sternum, acromion process, point of shoulder, clavicle, etc. It speeds the rate of healing and collagen turnover in soft tissues....well studies.

My chiropracter has one that works with a TENS unit together.

Its great, feels like a electric massage.

I might get one of these, only a 100 bucks.

If anyone gets one, keep us posted.

For me Massage and DMSO has worked much better than ultra sound..

Also alternating ice and heat..

Good luck.

US-1000 1Mhz Portable Home Ultrasound Therapy Machine
Just purchased this one. I have a lower distal bicep tendon strain. After just the first day I can get better ROM and the pain finally subsided. I think this is going to be a great aid with my all my injuries I have developed over the years because its suppose to break down scar tissus and stimulate collagen synthesis.

I got a better price with free shipping here,
Portable Ultrasound Unit, 3rd Edition (Model US-1000) - 1 ea

The only thing I wish to know about this and any of the portable ultrasound machines is about the 3 settings. How would one best utilize these settings of the best affect with injuries. I don't have a clue and only use the high setting on my most recent nagging distal tendon strain.

High Setting: 0.47 W/ cm²
Medium: 0.24 W/ cm²
Low: 0.11 W/ cm²
