I got a couple gallons of LBA's on the way and i was planning to use them to replace some food for my contest prep.

Currently getting 500gr protine/ed , under 50gr carbs/ed and 115-125gr Fats/ed from EVOO , and almonds and some red meat.

I'm right at 4 weeks out and was planning to cut the protine back to 300gr/ed and add 3 table spoons LBA's 4 times a day also add 3 more cups broccoli a day
then at the 2 week mark cut the protine back to 200gr/ed + 5 tbl spoons LBA's 5 times a day

I was thinking that buy cutting the protine back and adding the LBA's that any muscle loss or flatness would be minimal

I know that some of you have used LBA's as the only source of protine for the last couple weeks of prep along with fiberous greens , but I'm not sure what I need as far as calories goes to keep from looking and feeling like total shit.
I'm currently 6'2" , 267lbs this AM and BF is at the 8-9% range , this is the first time I've ever been this lean and the first time I've ever prepped for a contest , have a couple guys trying to help me but its sparse at best and they have zero dealings with the LBA's

Any help from you bros that have done this before would be greatly apperciated , I'm trying hard to not look laike a complete fuckup on stage my first time out

I use LBA's exclusively in my diet, I have one word for them "AWESOME" I have been using these for just over a year now. I will let Phil chime in on this one..........

I don't expect anybody (especialy those who pay/charge) to walk me through it , just looking for a little guidance.
I plan to hire Phil ASAP but if I spend another $250 this week after the $500 I've spend in the past 14 days my wife with either cut off my nuts or divorce me.

everybody keeps telling me how much easier it is to prep after your first couple shows cause you know what your body is gonna do and not so much fat to loose , I'm gonna try to keep it simple this time with the whole pre show food loading of carbs and so on , I'd hate to screw it all up cause i tried somthing that worked for sombody else. So I'm just looking steadyly drop some BF as the show gets closer then just do a smallish pre show feed up

I think LBA's are a GREAT addition to your diet...they seem to push the protein to the muscle and keep feeding the body in between meals. I still think you should have some solid meals as well. LBA's should supplement your eating plan and they are an excellent source of high quality absorsable protein.

7 weeks straight

I used them as my only source of protein for the final 7 weeks last time.

WOW , 7 weeks?? , that had to cost as much as bad cocane habit

I guess I'm thinking that if its was the only source of protine that you would need to take a pile of it a day to make up for the lack of food , I know that getting 500 grams of protine a day along with 1.5-2 gallons of water days is about enough to choke a mule , just having a hard time getting my head around replacing that with a liquid.

How much LBA's can you consume at one time and before your body waste it? I know that most folks swear that a human can only use 30-40 grams of protine per sitting and the rest is wasted but I think that guys with more mass and that use it alot can easly use upwards of 80 grams perserving. I know that getting 500-520 grams a day of good protine from chicken and tuna , 40grs of carbs a day and the fats from the EVOO and couple hand full of almonds throughout the day my "waste" has dropped WAY back

So if I cut my food protine back to say 200 grams a day (same frequency just smaller portions) and add 5 table spoons of LBA's to each meal that this would be a worthy use and reliable way to drop some BF% , that would equal out to be 8 servings of 5 table spoons per day making for 200 grams protine from the LBA's for a total of 400 grams per day of protine? the problem I see with this is that I'm only cutting my cals back by around 400 per day and I'm not sure if that will realy do anything to help drop the body fat?

Like I said I'm totaly new to the whole dieting part of this and its like trying to learn some new forgin language , I don't know how the body uses the LBA's , I meen are they digested and abosrbed like the whey in a shake or does the body just suck them up and shuttle to the muscle?

It was so much easier being a fat power lifter :p

I used them as my only source of protein for the final 7 weeks last time.

I have used them in the off season with success. My question is what was your weight at the 7 week mark as opposed to show day?

Thats a good question , also what was the differance in BF%

Yeah I would like to know that to..Im using them in my prep, with food, and Whey...Im using around 80-100 grams of LBA's per day, along with my whey isolate shakes, mixed into my skim milk and natty PB

Chris,

I saw you posted about starting your prep over on MuscleChem...keep us posted here too :)

223 at the 7 week point

195 the day of the show of course there was a water cut in there as well. I was down to 202 at 6 days out.

A few thoughts

My situation was a dire one. Before I met Phil I trained like a lot of guys, offseason was offseason. Under the guise of bulking up I would get fat every offseason and I always had the mentality that as long as I had 12 weeks I could get in shape for any show. It didn't really matter how fat I was I would just cardio, clen, and T3 myself into oblivion. When I hired Phil I was about 18weeks out of a show that I wanted to do. Well anyone who trains under Phil knows that his methods are a little different then most. I was kidding myself to think that 16 weeks was enough time to properly prepare for a show as fat as I was (245-250lbs). Well long story short at the 7 week mark Phil warned me that if I did the show I would lose a lot of muscle and just wouldn't come in anywhere near the condition that I should. For whatever reason I was set on doing the show, when Phil realized he couldn't change my mind he gave me a plan that he felt would be my only hope. I stuck to it for 7 weeks and I came in as good as possible for my situation. As Phil predicted my overall physique was decent but not the one I should be bringing to the stage. I ended up finishing 4th in 9 man Light Heavy class. That has been the only time I have ever competed Light Heavy as 195 LBS was my lightest weight in over 20 years.
I learned more about bodybuilding, nutrition, training, etc in those 16 weeks with Phil then I had in 20 previous years. Driving home from the show that night I couldn't wait to start training for next year. I really didn't take anytime off and I stuck to my diet throughout the holidays. My weight never got any higher then 220 the whole winter and I posted some offseason pics in Feb.

Tommorow I will be 8 weeks out. I am the strongest I have ever been and the heaviest I have been all year 226LBS however there is a 15 LBS lean body mass difference between now and when I was 6 days out. I realize that when I was 6 days out I had lost a lot of muscle so the data is a little skewed but none the less that is a 15 LBS difference. The machine I use though maybe not accurate is the same machine so the data should at least be consistant.

Interesting, I almost didn't make my weight class last year 226.5lb is what I weighed in at but the best condition ever thanks to Phil. I am currently around 231-233lb give or take and I am 6 1/2 wks. out but have a totally different look from last yr. It's just boggles me how our physiques change yet the weight isn't much but the mirror is a whole lot. Phil is da man!

Im curious and im sure alot of other members are too.. To see contest photos of Aeliop and Dangkolo (pre Hernon vs. with Hernon).... After your summer contests..
