Yep. BP meds have been a PITA for sure. Tried just about everyone until I discovered Amlodipine was the one that worked best with my biochemistry. No idea why.
I'd been on Amlodipine for about 3 years and then made the switch to Telmisartan about a year ago after all the chatter here. 80mg of Telmisartan never brought my #'s down as low but it got me into the low 140's over mid 80's. Amlodipine gets me down in the low 130's to high 120's over 70's range but with it comes mild edema in my ankles/shins. I honestly don't think it was the BP med switch which was about 2 weeks ago. I'm more leaning to this being something brought on by the damn flu shot.
