Since I was a kid in elementary school I was always told I am too hyperactive, talk too much, dont listen and my principal once told my parents when I got in trouble that my brain races so much Its hard for me to get the words out in time. As an adult who is a salesman and gets paid commission only I have constantly been told by managers and customers that I dont listen and talk too much and will do much better professionally if I was a better listener, even my girlfriends have all complained about it. When I was 14 I was put on prozac not because I was depressed but they felt it would "Balance" me because my highs were too high and my lows were too low. After taking it for most of my life I dont even know if it helps anymore but its cheap and I still take 40 mgs of prozac daily. Recently I was looking at symptoms of ADD and I felt like I had all of those and I have a good shrink so he gave me a 2 scripts (since you can only get one month at a time) of Vyvance at 40 mgs a day on days I work. I started taking it right before the Corona virus madness started and I definitely feel I am a lot more relaxed with it instead of without but maybe its all in my head. I pay attention to very small details. The first day I took it I noticed a picture of an elephant in my living room was slightly turned on the right side and I have not touched it in years and I adjusted it. I only take it on the days I work and even though I dont take it on my days off I dont feel any withdrawal but feel a bit more hungry. Anyone knows more about this drug? Also how does it affect if you are taking test and deca or test and Equipoise at the same time? The stuff isnt cheap. Even with insurance and the coupon Its 30 bucks a month so about a dollar per capsule.

God I loved that stuff, much 'cleaner' than other options. Never messed with my BP and never messed with my head.

I love Vyvanse ....those 70 mg orange and blue capsules make you feel so good. I can see why they are abused. Those caps gave me a total sense of euphoria. If I didn't feel like I was ready to work, pop on of those fire crackers....which wasn't a good thing after being on them for over a year. The problem for me was it crushed my hunger. I lost a ton of weight, which include a good amount of muscle. When I finally came decided to come off which I did.....even though my doc didn't want me to not come off cold turkey, I did it. After that, I crashed hard. I swear my adrenals were jacked, bc I had NO energy to get out of bed. I was always tired.

They sound like they are doing what they are supposed to do. I know some people will tell you to stay away from it, but if it's enhanced your life and balanced you out...than by all means stick to it. I'm sure there will be a ton of people advising you to stop.

I have ADHD and have been on almost every single one of the ADHD-meds including Dexamphetamine which Vyanse seems to be so feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

On the Dexamphetamine itself, I much preferred it over the Methylphenidate I'm currently taking but our pharmacies have been out of the ground powder for months now so that's why I was switched over to Methylphenidate. (We don't have a commercial form of it over here, it's manually made by the pharmacies) Methylphenidate is much weaker and controls my symptoms less than Dexamph but it's better than nothing still.

Well I dont want to be a junkie or take more than needed so Is it okay if I dont take it on my days off work? Tomorrow I dont work and dont plan on taking it. I just feel hungrier but no withdrawals at all.

I got a prescription for adderall recently. The effects are absolutely amazing! It completely takes away my anxiety, I stop fidgeting, biting my nails, my cheek and I have a better memory. I've only been using it to study 3-4 days per week at 15mg of immediate release. I know you asked about vyvance but I have not tried it yet.

Like you, I want to take it every day but I think that would end up being a very bad idea because I think it will lead to a higher tolerance and a slow increasing of your dose until its unsustainable. Now keep it mind I have no idea if it would end up being a bad idea im just nervous about it Haha. Most people that I know with add/adhd take it every day or 5 days a week with weekend off.

Also adderal does not increase my heart rate or blood pressure. Crazy thing is, my heart rate decreases when I take it without caffeine.

If you can take time off of it, that certainly will keep it more effective than being on it 24/7 so sure, that's very okay.

Big surprise here but I recommend looking into a more natural solution:

Obviously there are laws to consider but...

Stimulants calm those who truly have ADHD so it should come as no surprise that it decreases your HR. Taking it every day is fine just as well, just don't fall into the trap of constantly escalating dosages like you yourself already said. Just keep your dosage constant/the same.

Adderall is simply Levo- and Dextroamphetamine combined and it has been said that the Levoamphetamine gives more physical side effects than just taking the Dextroamphetamine by itself but when I took both combined (because that was all the pharmacy could get before they even couldn't get that ground powder anymore), I didn't notice any more physical side effects so I think that's largely BS.

What's also BS is that the Belgian pharmacies can't get the ground powder anymore and that you guys have all these commercial Amphetamine-variants available to you while I'm stuck with commercial Methylphenidate (which just plain sucks compared to Amphetamine) :p

What exactly is the difference between Vyvance and Adderall. I have been on Adderall(not the XR) for ADHD for a couple of decades and have wanted to come off it for health reasons, but would need something that works as well. I am wondering if something exists with similar benefit but without the same risk or other side effects that negate making the switch. On a side next, while my cardiologist thinks that the long term use of Adderall is dangerous, my psychiatrist tells me that from a scientific standpoint the danger is minimal and the pros outweigh the cons. I think both have biased opinions, so not positive who is right either.

Vyanse is Lisdextroamphetamine which is basically just Dextroamphetamine. Adderall is a combination of Levoamphetamine and Dextroamphetamine. It's 'been said' that pure Dextroamphetamine comes with less physical burden (mostly elevated HR) than the combination of both but like I said before, I've never noticed any difference between the two and the 'it's been said' is coming from people's personal experience so how trustworthy is that information to begin with? I've never seen anything mentioned in a study about it neither so... But you could always make the swith to Vyanse/Dextroamphetamine to find out for yourself if there's any truth to it having less physical side effects. It should work just as well as the Adderall did otherwise.

As to which of the specialists is right... I think they both are but your cardiologist probably isn't factoring in the fact that you have ADHD and that it should calm you, not speed you up like Amphetamine would do in someone without ADHD. In someone without ADHD, Amphetamine, even in ADHD-dosages, would almost certainly be cardiotoxic. Your psychiatrist is also right in that Amphetamine for ADHD is well studied, I've even seen 1 study (please don't ask me to look that one up, I have no idea how to retrace it lol) in which Amphetamine was concluded to be NEUROPROTECTIVE in those with ADHD.

The problem is that Amphetamine has always had a bad rep, is almost always immediately linked to recreative speed and meth-usage and is waaaayyy overprescribed especially in the US. But if you truly have ADHD and you stick to the well studied and recommended dosages, I wouldn't worry about taking it.

It's also the only drug prescribed for BED - Binge eating disorder. I have suffered for years with this and eventually it turns into bulimia. Its been a life saver for me

same here although i use Naltrexone and Bupropion. My wife had a very unpleasant time getting off Vyvanse btw.

From my understanding, and correct me if i'm wrong, Vyvanse has an unbreakable time release (which lessens the risk for recreational abuse) while Adderol does not, meaning the time release can be broken if crushed. At one time i had Adderol (not the XR version) and the first few times i never felt so good in my life. The euphoric buzz was something i'll never forget. Had a stint in college where i used it also and my grades shot up. From what i understand, ADHD or not, most people will perform better across the board if you gave them a low-to moderate dose of an amphetamine drug (not Meth).

I've been prescribed it off and on for a decade. Back on it now as of a couple months ago.

Definitely cleaner than Adderall, adderall crashes were awful.

That being said, there are initially some issues with crashing that resolve themselves over the first couple of weeks of use. When I got back on after being off for a few years the first couple of weeks I was crashing around 3PM, very hard to do much after. I found I was taking it too early in the day, so I moved it back til around 8:30AM with my breakfast, seems to do better with lasting all day.

My doctor switched me over to it for a brief time. I absolutely hated it!! I've had migraines with an Aura since middle school. Fortunately I only get them 1-2 x per year. My first month with Vyvanse I had 9 migraines in a row that were the worst of my lifetime. I quit using it and went back to normal. Tried it again later and more migraines. This stuff is definitely a trigger for my headaches. I wont use it again ever.

That's not been the case for me. I don't have ADHD and when my doctor gave me my Adderall script it did just the opposite. I couldn't focus or concentrate on anything. I couldn't sit down and read or book look at the internet or my phone without feeling like I was going to jump out of my skin. I had to stay active and keep moving or my mind would race 1000 miles a minute and I had many sleepless nights One of the worst sides was ED that still hasn't went away. My libido stayed high but the ED became ridiculous. I got the euphoric feeling and energy but nothing else positive like I was expecting. Its something I wish I would have never experienced and something I will never use again.

is it possible that your dose was too high? ED is common with most stimulants. If you were in bind and about to have sex you could always eat a Viagra or Cialis and you'd likely solve the problem. In my own experience w/Adderol i was able to get erections, just not as firm as normal. Sometimes it took a lot of work and concentration, though. Also, if i was on Adderol and having sex a boner was out of the question if i had to wear a condom.

The highest ever prescribed was 20mg in the beginning which was FAR too much. I went down to 10mg and then to 5mg and even where I would get a razor and just shave a small sliver off (a few milligrams) and it still didn't agree with me. After seeing a few other doctors I was told this kind of thing can happen with people who DON'T have ADHD. You get almost the opposite of the desired effect. Cialis and Viagra do work for me thank god but up until Adderall I had never had to use it. The wind could blow and I would get an erection. The ED is something that never improved either and Its getting close to 2 yrs from my last dose.

Yeah it has the opposite effect on people without ADHD. That's actually one of the best ways to test if you have it or not without doing any extensive testing (which is always still advisable).
