I just signed on with a company called UGA. It is an insurance company which sells Health and Life insurance and is completely commission based. They provide all the leads so it is not like you are cold calling although you can hit the street and create your own leads if you want to. It all sounds good but I am still skeptical. This is my first time going into something with commission only. It seems great because it creates residual income and their stock plan matches dollar for dollar. I become fully vested in ten years so in theory I could retire with potentially millions in my stock account. There stock price has gone from $18 per share to approximately $52 per share in the last four years. On top of making great money selling insurance, it seems like a good investment retirement purposes. Does anybody here have experience with insurance sales or possibly with this company. Everything sounds great...but almost to good to be true. I am appointed thru the company as an independent contractor so I have to pay for all my testing, gas......pretty much everything except bruchures and selling material. There are guys in my office making 200-300k annually and have only been in biz for about 2-3years. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
