What is Your Current Line of Work/Job Position?

Let's switch it up a little here. I keep seeing everyone owning brand new sports cars across the board, so I'm curious as hell as to how a young college-grad could get to a comfortable financial standpoint . . .

What is your current line of work? What degree did you get?

I've got a Bachelor's in Economics, and working for a supplement company doing business-2-business sales as well as account managing.

im a highschool dropout, i've worked tons of jobs from sales to construction. currently working on a lumber yard. i wish i would've gone to college so i could get some kind of easy inside desk job. but hey what are hard headed polocks good for:)

Finance/IT geek for a major investment bank - please, no wall street hate! Believe me I'm not that high on the food chain. I've always worked IT and recently got an MBA in Finance.

Did not finish my nursing degree. Got out of the health club business about 9 years ago, and got into real estate. Before the market dropped, made alot more money then my friends who graduated college.

I finished three years of college, with a double major - Athletic Training and Computer Science. Never graduated though, and it was probably the worst decision I've ever made. I've worked in sales my entire life, both in retail and as a car salesman. Now I manage a retail business - a shop that sells bicycles as well as fitness equipment. Some personal training work on the side as well. I don't make a ton of cash but the bills get paid with no worries.

office job, Land development Co.

No degree:)
Full time, operations, logistics manager.
And Nutrittion store part owner.

Ummmmmmm...... A 36 yr old Student. Mr. Hernon is my teacher. :D

Are you currently in Real Estate? Sales?

The past month I've had 3 interviews with a mortgaging company, was told,' we like you a lot, you'd be a super star here! you know, the remaining 95% of the decision to hire you is up to you! Would you be able to start in June?' I told them yes, and was psyched that I had landed a job . . . but then I was never returned a phone call .. they just kind of 'forgot about me' .. it's a REAL mind fuck to be a fresh college grad and be messed with like that in the hiring process, that's for damned sure!

means to an end, brother! That's how I lived my last 2.5 years of college; from pay check to pay check, unable to avoid having to make some shady $$ to pay for school, rent, etc .. So I feel ya!

Congrats on the management position, bro! Be proud of it! And the PT on the side; judging by your avatar, it looks like you're in your elements!

New home sales. Right now is not the time to get into real estate or mortgage. It would be extremely hard to make it work. Its hard enough for me and I have been doing it for 9 years. I have great contacts. That is the only reason, I have been able to make it work. Stay clear until the market is really back.

FYI. My income is down 70% from 4 years ago.

construction...near 50 percent unemployment in my local right now

I'm a bathroom attendant. I am responsible for unstopping the toilets every time someone loads them up. It's a shitty job but it pays the bills.

i am an accountant (auditor, CPA) for 6 years now. Graduated from University in 2007, which was a study that i followed next to a full time job.
But in the end it paid off. Dont make a lot of money (yet), but i certainly dont complain. Got my own house at 29, so i am happy and lovin life to the fullest. :D

Congrats, bro! That's just the thing; you gotta work hard from the start and then earn the benefits in due time .. My dream is to BUY my first house by age 30, so at 29, that's admirable!

Ouch, new home sales; I can only imagine! I've had numerous friends and aqcuaintances who have lost their real estate businesses these past couple of years. Initially I wanted to get into Real Estate, but considering the drastic losses in value across the nation the past couple years, I began researching more on mortgaging. Hence I began my applying to mortgaging companies all over the place ...

So, About two hours ago I wrote the story of how I didn't hear back from the mortgaging company I had met with 3 times . . . An hour ago I got the long-lost phone call; I WAS OFFERED A JOB A A MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICER, STARTING THIS SUMMER!

... I feel so blessed to get this opportunity, and so grateful that I didn't jinx myself when I wrote my 'sob story' here a couple hours ago. haha

I have a Bachelors in Registered Nursing. Currently working in the Emergency Dept. Planning on going back to school maybe to be a FNP:D
