What's up with this new breed of forearms?

I know flex is massive but either it's that angle or I think that pic is shopped a bit.

I'm almost 100% sure I read McGrath say in an interview that forearms where an obcession of his and he trained them non-stop all the time (quote, kept a wrist roller under his bed to train them when not doing anything) until he no longer had to do shit for them.

It's all about where ur insertion/attachment is. If it's close to the elbow, no amount of work can overcome those genetics.

My forearms have gotten much larger with the advent of Internet porn.

Flex Lewis does have some sick arms though.

I have some pretty good forearms at least in comparison to my bi's and tri's

I do like it, but as a result I really struggle to activate my biceps during curls... I get a massive pump in my brachialis and forearms and don't really get a deep contraction or pump in my actual biceps. It's probably the reason my biceps have always lagged.

I dont think I'd trade them for better biceps, though. I have a friend who is the other way around... big bi's and small forearms but I personally dont think the small forearms is a good look.

I've just ordered a wrist roller. Been meaning to for ages and this thread reminded me. Thanks allex

try doing curls with your wrists extended and see if that helps engage the biceps more.

I can also experience trouble engaging the biceps more than my forearms and have found that by extending my wrists as i contract I can really engage the biceps and take out a lot of the forearm work in curls. The forearms still get a workout but not as much.

I use to work in construction years ago with some WWII vets from the Navy. Their forearms were twice the size of their biceps from working with the heavy ropes on the ships.

Years ago I trained with a guy who used to do curls by standing up, with a strap around his wrist and tied to he dumbbell. I asked him why he did this and he explained it isolated just the bicep.

I tried it a few times, and you do have to focus on bicep a lot more.
