I wouldn't know (took a guess) I didn't listen to metal in the 80s, born in 77 and listened to mostly old school hip-hop in the 80s. I liked Metallica, but I do remember Iron Maiden my Uncle loved that shit and the more I look back now he was always knocking dudes out.
