It was manufactured that way. I've run that forge for a few hours non stop heat treating blades and that hose is barely warm to the touch. The interior is lined with insulation specifically for that use ( Forging metal, not heating a garage)
Well if the gyms ever close again and I have to train with my minimal weights and bands in my detached garage out back again, at least it has gas heat.
My 2.5 car garage is a gym.. wife never happy about that lol.. but it is insulated.. I installed a overhear electric garage heater.. if it's 30 degrees in the garage I can get it up to 65 degrees in about an hour.. when it gets down to 10 degrees it will get about 55 in garage.. I am debating on a bigger unit but I normally just put on a sweatshirt and cap.. in 10 minutes I'm sweating anyway

..you can certainly understand why i said what i said, right? ..at a glance it does look dicey
when i was in my teens, when i came home, i dealt with a small wood stove to get some heat in the garage to train
..double-triple layer sweats +gloves/cap till you got warm
^^^now ..thank goodness ..that's just a very distant memory
