the shitstorm of busts will subside and product distributors will slowly resurface. the politics of the olympia will never change. there is an unending list of olympia competitors who have been robbed over the years. leverone, nubret, mentzer, shawn ray, gaspari, and tons more.
Sold Out?...I don't know what arena you were referring to but the arena I was sitting in Saturday night had a few hundred seats vacant!...when they announced it was a sell out, people began looking around to see what the hell they were talking about!....fan turnout was down and will be down next year, the host hotel was a dump!!, the IFBB needs to rent a decent location that doesn't smell of piss and mildew.

I agree here Mike, BBing is an evolution sport. Look back at Larry Scott, The first crowned Mr. O. Now look at today's competitors. You can clearly see the evolution of the mass monsters. So you are right, we will witness the next generation of mass monsters at the coming O's. Wait five years, myostatin suspression and freak gene technology is where our next wave of monsters is coming from. I too think this is a cool sport. I do wish we could get the politics out of it and get on with it. I did say "wish"!Tom,
I have to totally agree with you and kindof chuckle as I read this thread. I have judged several Mr O's and watched the IFBB politics at play since 1977 (the year the NPC was formed) and it all cycles over again. After Arnold left the sport everyone thought it was the end of bodybuilding etc etc. After the Olympic Committee turned down Bodybuilding as a sport in the Olympics around 1983-1985 (basically because of the prevalent use of AAS in the sport), everyone thought that the sport was done with and would stagnate. When Ben Weider "retired" from the IFBB everyone thought that it would never last......(I could go on and on)...There will be new "Monster" bodybuilders in the next several years that will make todays names almost be forgotten , over and over again, this is the cycle of bodybuilding and the sport. It will ALWAYS survive and flourish in various sub cultures. I must say it is a very cool and awesome sport!! MONSTERS come and go in this sport yearly........

That was me.
Too much water with my LBA's.
Sorry.
P.S. If it's any consolation I did have shitty seats, though.
