I realize this is a broad question, but just for discusison. What are your opinions on lifting programs? Not saying one should stick with one type forever but generally speaking. Also noting first that everyone is different...

For a bodybuilding type of physique, which I have seen some powerlifters sporting some bodies that would shatter some bodybuilders...

Would it be a work out with high reps and sets or low volume heavy weights? Now knowing people are different there has to be some logic that would make one or the other seem to do better for this specific purpose. For pure muscle gains, get the look, then the power...

This forum has so much knowlege but seems to speak little of what the actual training is. Now I know some get paid to train on here, but I would think at that level even if some information is given out, those who want it will pay to be trained regardless, especiialy at higher or competition levels...

Thanks guys.

..

i am beginning to think frequency is more important and your volume and rep scheme should be geared around what you can handle in terms of frequency.

This question is exactly why I love BBing and helping get guys ready for shows. I have found that just like a coach in sports a nutritionist/trainer needs to work with each of his or her athletes and over time figure out what works best for them. I think that almost all of us can agree that the only consistancy in training is change. Change is what shocks our bodies into new growth. That being siad anyone who has been in the gym long enough knows what works BEST for them. For me it is actually not the same for every bodypart. I have found that my legs and back grow best with higher volume and rep range training. So much volume that I split my quads and hams as well as having seperate days for back width and thickness. On the other hand my arms didn't start growing(FINALLY) until I left my ego in the parking lot and started training with super strict form for very few sets. Everyone is different and just like the voices in my head don't agree on what works best neither do my muscles.:D

I just wanted to bump what you had to say about different body parts. Although my routine changes every few months, I've learned that a few body parts grow very well with extra punishment, while other parts can be over-trained much easier. Something to keep in mind.
