Front squat is known for hitting quads directly. There's the cross-armed version, which is a pain in the ass to do. Once you learn to do it with a clean grip, the clean grip is EASY.
What does a hi-bar squat give that combining a front squat and deadlift or lo-bar squat do not give? I kind of see the hi bar squat in the same way how some feel the incline press is a combination of two exercises (shoulder and chest) but mediocre at both.
