Kind of too short. try one inch. musch better. You want to make sure you hit the muscle.

Depends on bodyfat. I use a 1/2 inch all the time on delt's, bi's, tri's.

I prefer 1.5 inch pins. I bury them in shoulders, glutes, quads. That way it gets into the deep muscle tissue. I would be hesitant to use .5 inch pins except in biceps or triceps. Google syringes and you can buy them easily. They are not illegal to purchase or possess.

I'm with BB, 1.5" everywhere.

hit a bone? are you serious? have you ever been to a flu shot clinic? little kids with shoulders no bigger than my thumb get their shots and it's usually a 1" .

Order up some 1.5" pins. You don't need to bury the things balls deep in you unless your hands shake like a parkinson's patient when you're pinning. On my shallower areas I just go 1/2 of the pin in. In deeper I go more. With a smaller length you don't have that luxury.
