X-Mas Giving

I just wanted to share with you what Jessica and I thought was a better way to approach the holidays and Christmas. Instead of wasting money on each other we decided to sponsor a child that is in need of care. We now sponsor a beautiful little girl named Patricia who lives in Peru. She's so cute! although i applaud your charity why not go to the salvation army and adopt a child for christmas right here in our own country, the "adopt an angel" program has been around awhile. i adopted a 12year old named Faith and bought here entire christmas and it feels good. i spoke with a director who said many many kids have absolutely nothing for christmas. they give you the sponsor childs clothing size and a toy they would like to have and the rest is up to you. i just cashed in some vacation time from work and used the money accordingly.

We wish to do something local this x-mas also. My family and I have done x-mas for families here before. I know there are needs here and I wish people would do more. I'm broke but I can still give to someone who doesn't have anything. I have heard many people point to we have needs here in the states so why go outside the country with money? These people are often worse. I've seen it first hand. And yes this is true that we have needs here, but sadly enough people have more means of help, or at least they should here. I'm not saying there aren't people in the states that aren't in need either. To clarify, we aren't just giving for x-mas to this little girl, this will be every month as long as we wish. It's monthly. I think you misunderstood me. X-mas just was a good time to put things in perspective and start. This goes beyond x-mas.

I commend you for your actions. Can you imagine having nothing for x-mas? I have done things in the past locally and will continue. Both Jessica and I have done mission work. It touches your heart. I have seen some tough conditions, generally worse than stuff here. I use to go to a men's shelter and hang with the fellows. Most of their stories where about how they made poor choices and are hooked on drugs, etc. There are so many in need. What are other people on this board doing that may be close to this topic? What ever way you choose or who to give to, at least you are giving.

we need more people like you and jess in this world. bodybuilding is such a time consuming and self-centered sport that sometimes we dont take the time or the money out to do the right thing. its heartbreaking to know there are people in our own country in such conditions yet are government is focused on oil in foreign countries and witch baseball player is taking steriods..
