Zuffa Inc has bought Pride (UFC & PRIDE ARE ONE)

Thats right. Zuffa had aquired Pride. It was just a matter of time. I belive that they are going to run them as seperate entities for a while. But some fighters may go back and forth. Bring Fedor and Shogun baby!

PRIDE CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara informed staff inside the Japanese promoter's Los Angeles office Wednesday that he was stepping down as part of an agreement to sell the company to Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta, who own the UFC.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer at wrestlingobserver.com, Sakakibara suggested only minor points separate the deal, which Sherdog.com first rumored on Monday, from reaching its conclusion. No contract has been signed, the report said.

While Sakakibara appears to be leaving a company he's been a part of since its inception in 1997, the man who stepped in as PRIDE CEO after Naoto Morishita committed suicide told his staff that the company would remain intact and autonomous from the UFC, but that hurdles no longer remain between UFC versus PRIDE cards, Meltzer reported.

Dana White is the president and minority owner of Zuffa (UFC). Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta are the majority owners.

Correct.

Now....UFC and Pride are NOT becoming ONE. They will both be owened by Zuffa. There's already talks about bringing in fighters for certain fights. Like Shogun just signed a 4 fight contract with 2 fights in Pride and 2 fights in UFC. So Pride will stil be Pride and control the Japanese market, while UFC continues to run the US market. Zuffa also owns WEC and they have not merged it with UFC. Its just one parent company but still independent fight orgs.

I think Arona signed the same contract as Shogun.
