you do the math in quatioans first (9+3) that gives u 12. Divide 48/2 and get 24. Then multiply the 24*12 and get 288....

Think of it as 48/2(9+3)=48/(12x2)=2....that's my guess anyway.

Depends how you read it....

The literally correct was is 48 / 2 * (9+3) = 48 / 2 * 12 =288

People getting 2 as an answer are reading it as 48 / (2*(9+3)) = 2 ...which is how you would write it for more advanced math classes cuz the stuff under the division line has implied brackets...so ur smrt but ur rong. How them student loans taste now?

wrong...multiply and divide are at the same level...same with add and subtract...think about it 4/2 = 4*0,5...multiplying and dividing are technically the same operation, only written differently...so answer to the original question is 288 (48/2(9+3)=48/2(12)=48/2*12=24*12=288
