Vitamin D is essential for hormonal balance, if deficient will wreck havoc on your immune system.The list is long.

Darker skinned people such as myself have a hard time absorbing Vitamin D through sun light. , even though I work out side year round my V-D levels are at the low end of normal.

I used to take about 14-16 vitamins + minerals, etc per day, but realised after several months that I was feeling shit with all the excess crap going through my liver. Now I just keep it real simple - 1 sports multivit+mineral / day, 1000mg glucosamine + chondroitin / day, fish oils and lecithin for cholesterol.

And not only do I feel better for not having too much excessive shit going through my liver, but I look better too...and healthier...
 
Forgot to say that obviously creatine, glutamine, protein powders, etc are a given :D

On Your next doctors visit ask if he/she can check Your Vitamin D hydrox 25
levels, its cheeked through blood work.

I live in the U.S

A lot of times when doctors review your blood work and your levels fall in the normal range especially lower, they feel there is no need to treat or supplement to bring You in middle or upper range of normal. A few ng^ can make a world of difference.

Same with iron levels, low ferritn in " normal range" can indicate pre anemia, which can be over looked.

I take the same stuff on cycle as well, I just bump up the doses on a few of them.
