Watch out for Luke Wood too, he looks pretty good from the pics I saw of him...

That pic is awsome, all the pics from every freaking angle and pose of him is just awsome....

I know this doesn't mean much, but Dennis James looks pretty good right now. He usually looks very good up until the contest and something goes wrong.

So Fakhri, Caprese, and Victor aren't doing the show? I see them on the poster but not on the competitors list. It's a pretty decent line-up. I really like Phil Heath's physique and I think he'll be in the running again.

Who knows. It could be a combination of things ranging from trying different things with the water, carb up, or just nerves/stress. I know a guy who looked awesome before prejudge, then when he was onstage...he smoothed over really bad, about an hour later he looked awesome again without changing a thing. You'd just have to see it to believe how much he changed. He determined it was just nerves. He rectified it at later shows by having to take valium just to relax so his conditioning wouldn't go away.

i want to see dennis bring some crazy conditioning to the stage and take the show...

This is the show that used to be the NOC....right?
NO superstars. could be anyone James in great condition could go, but you all are so right. Years back he looked so good 10wks out youd think he would be the next Mr O. then its like-what happened?

I was at last weekend's show in Denver and will be at this weekend's in New York.

Yes last weekend it was very close with Phil and Darrem, only body part
Phil outdid Darrem was hams. Phil, who just recently signed a Weider contract, has been their latest version of Alexander Federov in terms of
the hype of the Weider machine, at least the final result for him was better.

Keep in mind Darrem broke with Weider 6 months ago to sign a far more
lucrative contract with Muscletech.

Another considerdation in last weekend's result was the judges getting
caught up in the enthusiasm for the local boy Phil Heath who had thousands of fans in attendance. Darrem had 4 fans there, his wife, his son, me, and
a buddy from his native homeland, Trinidad.

I can't predict the outcome in New York but the playing field will be
far more level in terms of fan enthusiasm. Whether or not the judges
still take orders from Woodland Hills (Weider) well that remains to be seen.

i'm not sure who you are, but i'm a chief judge and judging coordinator for the state of CO, i was at the show last weekend judging the amateur portion of the show. did you come down to the table ? what state do you judge for ?

i spoke with 1 of the IFBB judges after the show and she did not even know Phil was from Denver.

and i'm sure you noticed that Dareem looked better in the 1st round but the 2nd round Dareem started to fade bad and Phil started to get immensely harder, these conditions continued throughout the day. By the evening show Dareem had gotten so soft that Dave Henry was pulling close for 2nd.

as you stated, who knows about NY this weekend, but i guarentee you that Phil will show up with incredible condition again and it will be a battle !!!!!

I have yet to see a picture of Dareem Charles posted that remotely came close to displaying the overall condition Phil brough to the table. Charles was much bigger then in years past but i have to say Phil has a better overall package that night,

Dareem will take the show, mark my words and rub it in my face if im wrong tomorrow.:D

I wasn't at the show but I believe that PC........ I saw him do that at the Junior Nationals last year at prejuding. He went through quarter turns then mandatories and I swear every pose Phil Just kept getting bigger and harder, it was crazy.....

exactly, it is crazy !!!

Too bad you didn't stop down front and say Hi to us judges, Worldspan. Would like to have met you.

Anyway, I'm not going to get VERY specific here but from some bits of conversation I heard from the IFBB judges, they weren't leaning toward Phil at all. I even heard the phrase "...he needs to pay his dues..." thrown around. I am Phil's friend and a fan of his, but even I agree that Darrem had him in the first round, just by a bit. In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds though, Phil worked Darrem and Dave was quickly approaching 2nd place. My buddy told me Phil looked bigger and harder the day after the CO show, so hopefully he can bring that to NY. It will be a great contest.

I do have to admit, Darrem surprised me. I saw him 3-4 years ago and wasn't that impressed by him. This time, I thought he looked a lot better and bigger too.
