2024 IFBB Pro Athlete and Show(s) running Mega Thread

I still don't understand the whole AJ and Hassan thing????
The way Hassan kind of talked he was having a health scare with AJ or something to that nature?

Don't know how the grass can be greener when your winning pro shows where your at (with AJ)
I haven’t asked AJ about it, but I am sure he would share.

But I can say for certain AJ would never let his guys now get in a health scare. We do bloodwork every 3 weeks in a prep and it’s not “bodybuilding ranges” it’s you “have to be healthy”.

But I agree- he looked amazing with AJ so no clue why he left. I just know AJ doesn’t really take guys back on who leave. It’s unfortunate because Hassan has a crazy physique and build.

Hassan Mostafa didn't have a health scare with AJ - when he started with him AJ said he had the worst blood work he'd ever seen of any bodybuilder. For the first few weeks together he didn't let him do anything but walk on a treadmill.

💯 sounds like something AJ would do.

The second one to this day who still surprises me as well is Logan Franklin.

The grass isn’t greener on the other side usually.

I believe he even worked with Chad at one point in time. Dorian Hamilton coaches his now.

I agree with you, I phrased my post poorly. What I meant was i did not understand how at the time of this post we had 7, 8 guys qualified in 212 and open, but there are already 45 guys qualified for classic physique. Is IFBB and Mr. O as enterprise pushing an easier path to get more guys qualified? My thoughts was perhaps they know Chris is closer to being done than not, and they are hoping to find that next diamond in the rough by having an especially large field. I mean Wes Vissers is in that conversation, I believe Terrance is / should be. Obviously Dino, and some other up and comers this year. Breon will keep bringing the heat but they don't look at him as the next thing in Classic, that ship has sailed. There was some recent chatter about Urs going to open. Don't know if there was any meat to that or if it was just one of those "hey what if Urs did open?" articles and some pages ran with it.

I have no problem with any of this shit, I didn't even care when they gave Cedric the special invite despite much backlash in the BB world. I was just curious why such a massiv discrepancy in the qualified fields.

It's far cheaper to put on a IFBB Classic show vs Open. Prize money minimums are less. Due to this there are simply WAY MORE classic shows to qualify at. There were THREE IFBB Classic shows this weekend alone.

Makes complete sense. Thanks for your insights. It also makes sense that there are just a lot more guys that want to do Classic. Simply doesn't require as much time, and *probably* not as much drugs to get to a competitive pro level compared to Open.

I try to tell the young guys that this is COMPLETE BS. Yes, in theory, getting to IFBB Open Bodybuilding size is going to take longer than IFBB Classic size. What 99% don't seem to realize is NPC Bodybuilding is BY WIEGHT CLASS!!!!!!! Everyone thinks of guys like Samson, Ramy, Nick and Hadi and they get in their minds that this is what "open bodybuilding" is, and yes at the top of IFBB it is, NPC is worlds away from this. If you go look at the largest non-pro qualifying show in your state and compare the overall winner of the "open" and "classic" there is not much difference, sometimes it's the same freaking guy. If you have classic shape then do classic, but for NPC new competitors I think they should do BOTH and see where the cards fall.

At the end of the day these kids have as much of a chance of looking like Cbum as they do Nick Walker, that is to say KEEP DREAMING kids.

I appreciate your insights here, thank you for sharing your perspective. Please take this as a compliment, but every time I think I have an idea about something at the non tested pro level, I am quickly reminded I do not know shit about fuck. I made all of those assumptions that you stated lol.

Oh. Was not questioning you but more so just saying “why not” as I appreciate the competition greater volume of competitors brings. I too appreciate the special invites.

Sasan...i cant wait to see him on stage again
Here is Sasan w/ James Hollingshead, Leroy, Dan Mcnab, and Anthe Bales on the 100% of Nothing podcast. One week out:

For the mascochists who actually enjoy listening to Sergio Oliva, Jr., here's 2 hours of the delusional 40-year-old who still thinks he's going to be a great pro.

Trying to not be too negative here. Not my style but . . .

I listened to it today on my walk. My exact same thought. He did nothing but complain the entire show . . . ‘not my fault’. It was never his fault. Whatever. Heaps of potential, he has come along way. His proportions (not symmetry which is different . . . one of my pet peeves) are decent despite his high lats which I believe, for the most part, he is stuck with.

The center will not hold.

And I think his comeback plans are a bit over ambitious, think he would be lucky to place in the top three (?) in any world class competition, his best days being behind him.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

I love Jay’s podcast but this one was the worst.

The crazy thing is virtually every issue he's had has absolutely been his fault. The next good decision he makes in life will be his first.
