Shelby:
I considered these questions pretty deeply after my heart failure with its inherent shortened life span. I have been blessed in life and could retire, etc. and I considered quittting work, moving, doing sort of a "Bucket List" type thing.
The only thing I did that would be considered "Bucket List" was go buy a big, decked out Mercedes. I generally do not put money in declining assets but I made an exception.
Here is the thing and it gives me peace: I decided I liked my life the simple way it is. This is a life I would choose for my self. I go to work daily where I see business partners that I've known for thirty years one of whom is my best friend. I go to the gym where I have several friends and numerous acquaintances. I go walk my dogs that are a love of my life. I then spend an evening with my girlfriend of seven years. The next day I repeat. I truly enjoy, not just live my life.
I do take care not to hurt others, I try to care for those in need, and I support family and friends where possible. I try to appreciate the simple things. There is a true beauty in life and this planet. It often not the problem of our eyes or our glasses, but our minds when we do not see it.
