What are your thoughts on it and who actually uses it and what have been the results?

My body seems like a ball on knots and was thinking of doing a few sessions, but i heard you have to get them done on a somewhat regular basis. I know cutler gets these done like 3 times a week!

from what i heard they are extremely beneficial i'm looking to have it done

it worked wonders for me,i had bad problems with inner and outer elbow for a long time,i tried several otc products and other things, nothing worked and yes that includes GH,once i started getting ART i progressed quickly,as a matter of fact i improved after the first session, and while i was having ART done i was able to increase the intensity of my training, the first few session were painful but after those it was more of a discomfort,i think there is a couple of practitioners on the board.

I had my left arm done,,I couldn't hammer curl a 5lb db without pain,,2 trips and its great ..my girl and I are going to derik farnsworth in a month to get worked over!

Derik is the man. Im making the drive out there next month for a 2hr session!!

I'm qualified in it and yeah I'm a 100% fully biased fan. I strongly advise you to see someone with strong hands if you have any issue relatively deep however.

I can't imagine a 120lb, 50 yo women doing a lot for your piriformis etc.

It continues to amaze me how one session often completely heals an area that's been injured for years... but again the stronger the hands the more pressure one can create.

Also, if you're looking for a practitioner on the active release website... you are probably going to find someone more skilled if they have a few icons (ART specific qualifications to their name). This shows they've been doing it a few years and are obviously happy to keep spending 1000's to continue their education within the organization.

Icons;
Ue - upper extremity qualified
Le - lower extremity qualified
Sp - spine qualified

Someone who has these three will be able to treat about 90% of conditions.

Recently had work done on both my elbow (ulnar) and upper back.

Helped tremendously for the upper back. Elbow difference is negligible...In fact the 'flossing' of the ulnar nerve (his term ) hurt like hell when he did it.

Come to think of it....A lot of the work hurt. He was working on my shoulder blade and at one point I actually had to stop for a few seconds

Not sure how I feel about it as a whole. The person is a non-practicing chiropractor, certified in ART, and is an athlete (sponsored cyclist). I have a certain bias against chiropractors.

I will see the ART therapist on an as needed basis and will be looking for a deep tissue masseuse.

I can describe ART as a combination of deep tissue and stretching to get the desired effect. The big difference is that ART is only done on the areas needed and leaves you better than when you entered the therapists office. On the other hand - Deep tissue massage, when done properly, will leave your entire muscular system feeling....like jello?

Appreciate the info! There seem to be several of these docs in Atlanta. All of them have a all of the "qualification" icons. Will try one out.

Active release...I do that once or twice a day with my girlfriend...and sometimes by myself with some lotion and porno.

You can also try the asian massage parlor with the "Happy Ending" :p

ART is one of the best and smartest investment you can make for your body

Have benefited from deep tissue massage before but this is a whole 'nother level I think

It really is. Yes of course massage feels good and has some practical benefits but ART is a spot specific injury recovery methodology. It really can repair minor tears, etc.

I am fan. It's instant gratification and great 'pre-hab' as well.

Like a previous post stated, sometimes you can get rid of pains that have been bothering you FOREVER with a session or two.

I'm a huge fan too, hurts like an S.O.B. But works wonders.

Just has some ART and guasha done on my tri area for some elbow tendonitis, after just one session, I'm feeling ALOT better!

Anyone know of a good ART specialists in Houston?

this is where i went and had great success,Dennis Evans did my therapy.
