Adventure of a lifetime

Oldfella left today on an adventure of a lifetime. He’s sailing a 40ft mono from the Whitsunday Coast to Melbourne with a friend. It’s over 3000km south along the east coast of Australia and if all goes well should get them there in about 3weeks. There will be a lot of challenges to deal with along the way, but I have complete faith in his ability to handle any situation that may arise. I’m excited yet fearful for him as there is a lot of ‘unknown’ when it comes to the sea and too many scenarios to even contemplate. I write to ask all who love him for your prayers for his safe return. Thanks

That kicks ass. I have gained much respect for OF through his posts and pics here. I wish him the best on his journey with complete belief he will live, learn, and grow through this. Also I bet he brings back some magnificent pics to post. Thanks for posting this OG!

Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers. I’ll keep in contact with them through SMS every couple of days. I told them to send me their co-ordinates, just in case. You know he’s not shy when it comes to taking lots of pics! So yes there will of course be far too many knowing him and he’ll want to post them all!
Both puppies are here with me, but Waldo is missing him terribly. Lots of extra playtime in order and maybe an extra treat every now and then.
Will keep you posted on his progress as it comes to hand.

Did ya hear the one about the boat that ran out of fuel because the owner of the boat and the capt didn't comunicate whose job it was to 'fill er up'? ....yes they ran out of fuel 200km's down the road!LMAO. The local VMR (Volunteer Marine Rescue) are taking enough out to help them get to the Mackay port.

Call from Hospital!

OF slipped on some spilt fuel on deck and smashed his big toe into one of the cleets. He rang me from the waitng room at the hospital. He thinks it maybe broken, but I don't think there was any brain damage!LOL
