from Flex, Nov 1990: An article focusing on Mighty Mike Quinn.
quote, "To me powerbuilding calls for going to failure while using the heaviest possible poundage. If you go so heavy that you fail around five or six reps, you're not working the deepest muscle fibers; you're working the tendons and ligaments and the muscle's strength component...And if the weight is so heavy that that you blow your wad within five or six reps, then I can guarantee that you're not isolating the muscle group."
Personally, I sometimes do a 5-6 rep set and feel that I'm working/isolating the muscle. So I'm not sure I completely buy into this. What's your take?
