Albuterol in new study

Read an interesting article in the US News and World report about Albuterol and Muscular Distrophy.

The scientists (studying MD) in the article visited different Body Buidling Boards to study what was being used to help build muscles. They found that a lot of Body Builders where commonly using a certain family of drugs (I am assuming Clen) to help build muscles. Albuterol is part of this family

Anyway it seems that Albuterol stops a certain enzyme that attacks muscles and causes muscle degeneration. After so many months of treatment, individuals with MD not only noticed less to no muscle degeneration; but some acutally noticed muscle gains.

Is Albuterol similar to Clen?

How anyone else heard about this?

Albuterol is an inhaled asthma medication administered through a small squeezable hand pump. I have heard of it being used by a lot of powerlifters right before a meet. I think that the general concesus among bodybuilders is that clen and ephedrine are both more effective for the desired results though.

I've used it myself and I didn't really ever notice anything special from it.

Albuterol

Inhaled albuterol acts topically on bronchial smooth muscle with very little systemic absorption. Albuterol tabs however have a similar action to clen but clen is much more cost effective and the albuterol tabs have to be taken in larger quantity to get the same effect as clen.

The difference in clen and albuterol is the half life. Clen's is MUCH longer, 24-36hrs. Therefor it KEEPS you metabolism stoked. But also thats the reason for the extreme downgrade of the beta-agonist receptors-2wks.
I could see using Albuterol inhaler before big lifts!

Clenbuterol and Albuterol both are Beta-2 Adrenergic bronchodialators with similar effects. You wouldnt want to use an inhaler for weightloss, instead you would want to use Albuterol syrup. Inhalers run at about 100-103 micrograms which is a small amount compared to syrup with is around 4mg. There are several reasons also why Albuterol is better to run then clen:

The reasons that you would get LA as opposed to clen are:

1) shorter half life, allowing for greater control over its stimulatory effects.
2) can be run longer than clen with less receptor downregulation, allowing for an overall greater fat loss.
3)Less chance of negative side effects. Because of clens long half life, more and more of it needs to be taken in order for it to remain effective allowing for a greater build up in your system and therefore a higher chance of negative side effects.
4) More studies showing improved strength and endurance in humans with Albuterol.
