Alteration to contest diet for non-competitor

I noticed on quite a few contest diets that they tell you to quit the AIs a few weeks out; apparently keeping estrogen near zero can flatten you out when the time comes to peak for a show.

But since I'm just leaning out as much possible without any set "date" to be ready for, should I stay on AIs these last three weeks to keep the estrogen as low as possible until I finish this out? Or should I also stop the AIs like a competitor would?

Most guys increase their AIs the last handful of weeks.

I wouldn't suggest coming off them.

Thanks Shelby. Reason I ask is that on Big A's diet, he says to drop them entirely for the last month. I then looked at another comp diet written up for me by a former trainer on here from back in 2003, and he also had them being dropped the last two weeks. That confused me vs. the drying out -- which you said and which I also always believed in.

I think I will stick to them, as I don't see the harm. Thank you for chiming in!
