Annoying Bench Press Bars.

I might have to find a new gym. All the bench bars are very thin, maybe 1" thickness. They put extra pressure on your palm because of the smaller area, especially with heavy weight. Also, you cant get a proper grip. I bitched about it and they said its because they have so many woman training nowadays!! I don't see why woman cant use the standard size bars!
Am I the only one who's noticed this shit?!! I wonder if anyone makes a tool to go over it and make it more comfortable to hold.

Don't think I have ever seen bars that thin before. The gyms I used to lift at always had one bar that was extra thick and had flat sides on it, great for when you do false grip. I loved those bars. Maybe if enough of you bitch about it you can get the owner to buy one good bar that he can lean in the corner for you and other guys to use.

This is a very expensive and large chain. I only have to use it because its the only one close to my work as 24 hour closed their location that I was using. For the money Im paying they should be able to get decent bars. Perhaps time to find a new gym.

Being a chain gym, I doubt you'll have any luck getting them to spend money on standard bars. I had similar issues with lots of broken dumbbells at the gym I went to and despite months of complaining, they never did anything about it. They did get a bunch of new crossfit crap in the mean time though :banghead:

There use to be pro bodybuilder that had sponges in the palms of his hands to get a better grip and to keep his hands soft.That was in the 80's

Those versa grip glove/strap things help when pressing thin bars
