Another quick fina ??

I just ordered my kit for an experiment... now my first exp. went well but i need another for my conculsion. Wondering in my kit it has a coffee filter?? Doesnt the watman take its place?

My first exp. went well without the coffee filter... also im follwing the directions from gotfina www.gotfina.com/articles/make.html
In there diretions there is no coffee filter?

Directions w/o a coffee filter... But I still recommend them as it will save you from a clogged Whatman.

I don't use a coffee filter. But, I don't draw from the gunk layers either.

I do use a coffee filter before sterile filtering (Waltman).
Make sure the solution is warm/hot before passing the coffee filter-it goes through ALOT faster. I also change coffee filters
2-3- times as it also clogs part way through and solution stop passing - but be careful not to spill when transfering!

Like xcel said... if i just draw up from the sperated part.. the oil and not the gunk and then filter it.. wouldnt the coffee filter not be needed?

So if i were to use the coffee filter(from what ive read using the coffee filter allows you to get out a couple more mg's of tren) I would use it after the pellets have sat in the magic solution for an hour.. add to the oil... once it seperates you heat it then run it through a coffee filter?? into an extra empty vial(put a filter in a funnel and gently squeeze the pellets once all the oil seperates) then take that out and filter it through the watman?

Is this extra step going to be worth it?

I like to leave the pellets in the magic solution overnight, although it's not necessary to do this. They say to let it go through the coffee filter "naturally." This could take overnight. Then squeeze-out remaining solution. Doesn't seem worth it to me.

edit: I did'nt see MikeS' response - looks like he has some experience with the filter. Makes it sound like even more work!
