any doctors around? Acute and Chronic drug administration

Man Im having a hell of time trying to the difference between them. What I really need to is Chronic Administration is continual over time like chemo or continual in a set time like morphine.. ive been searching all day and havent found a thing and am getting frustrated. Any help in the right direction would be very helpful. thanks guys

chronic use would be over a time period whereas acute would be all at once.. chronic pain.. for example is pain that lasts days weeks months or even years where as acute pain is typically short but intense
