Anyone doing the Mountaineer in NC?

Just wondering, I plan on competing there and would be interested if anyone else here is? Would love to meet some other people in the area.

I think they changed to location from Boone, to hickory which is closer for most people. If this is true I'll go to the show. Should be a good one.

I checked NC's NPC website yesterday and looks to be Hickory which as you said, is closer so that works out well. If you do decide to go, shoot me a PM. It's Sept. 12th.

I'll probably go watch the show. A friend of mine is planning on competing in the heavyweight division. Will miss Farthing Auditorium though. Seems like the Mountaineer has ben held on the campus of App State forever. I should be prepping for the Nationals then so I'll have my cooler full of food with me.

Hey man, good luck with nationals! This will be my first competition so we will see how it goes, have a great trainer in my corner in Shelby so hopefully things will work out well! I will post some pics as the comp gets closer so hit me up if you see me!

Mountaineer has been cancealed and so has the clash that morrison productions put on! Got email today and said they will not be doing anymore npc events in N.C.

I was informed of that yesterday as well. Looks like I will be shooting to attend the West Virginia (Mid Atlantic) Grand Prix on Sept. 12th. About three times the driving but oh well. Thanks for the heads up!

About time you get into competition! What weight class are you guys shooting for?

Well I am working with Shelby and I am currently sitting around 232-125lbs not quite but nearly as lean. We initially started to diet down for my own and then I realized I wanted to compete. I was able to get down to around 228lbs at that time and pretty lean. We then took some time to put on a little more size or at least maintain until I was closer to the competition. I assume that with a full ten weeks I will be down to the lower end of Heavyweight but I have no idea being my first competition...

Here is a pic from about when I was down around 228 (I am 6'1'')...let me know what you think?

Legs, chest and delts look real good.

I know a couple guys from my gym doing it, but they will be in the LW and MW division. I was planning on going, so i will see you there. From what i hear that is a lot of interest and should be a pretty decent show this year.

I think Eric Frankhouser (sp?) will be guest posing or at least he did last year. I am pretty damn pumped about the show overall, not concerned with the placing however I would like to do well. Really just in it for the experience and I love to push myself and want to see where I can get.

Oh and Main, you better come! I definitely want to meet you!

Actually Eric and his trainer Andy put it on now so he'll definitely be there. Wouldn't be surprised to see Flex Lewis there too as they are pretty good friends.

I think that's certainly where I would be most competitive however that would entail losing 35+lbs in about 10 weeks. I plan on doing whatever Shelby tells me to do and if I fall in that category then great, if not that's fine too.

When they moved it to Hickory I was planning on going.

Did they give a reason and/or explanation on why they wont be doing any more shows in NC? Just curious.
