Attempting to get lean... Anyone care to critique what I'm doing?

Would most guys with op goals, average genetics be able to reach lean 8-10bf with just diet and lifting? I understand contest shape is a completely different story
I'm not answering this because you're one of the people who was banned recently. You're back under another name and again asking hyperspecific questions that have no bearing on what you'll actually do.

All the cardio does is burn calories. Yes. As long as you’re in a deficit it would be impossible not to lose fat.

Cardio should be in everyone's program. It is good for you, regardless of the outcome on you getting leaner, burning calories etc.

I never said otherwise and this has nothing to do with the question.

He asked could you get to 8-10%

Of the question was about health or longevity this would be relevant.
The question at hand however this is not

i can appreciate that but i am curious how many guys have tried it?
admittedly i was super scared. i thought no way i was gonna lean up w 7 min cardio and 20-25 min weights
BUT i trusted my coach and did EXACTLY what he said and boom.
it really was diet and drugs that got me lean.
since then tho i just dont see the point in endless cardio. fuck that. i got in this game to life and be big and lean.
again last time i checked cardio burns calories. eat less carbs. which is less cals and let the CNS recover.
more frequesnt work outs (my split was 3 days on 1 day off repeat)
This may work for a non serious competitor with good genetics, but most guys at the top right now end up doing an hour easy pre contest.

Cardio isn’t even really for just burning fat, but more about keeping your health markers good including the things that keep your metabolism going. You can think of it much like an amplifier.

I would have been willing to bet that if you had done more cardio for that prep you did in those 6 weeks with Phil that you would have looked even better on stage. You looked great btw.

I say all of this as someone with a very fast metabolism. I’m not saying it can’t be done, but why not use it, be healthier, build your metabolism and get all the other benefits of using cardio while doing a prep or just trying to stay lean. You’ll be better and healthier for it.

Your post stated "All the cardio does is burn calories."

Can I get to 8-10% bf without cardio?
😮
So where in the question is anything else being asked about besides fatloss?

Came here to say this. I also find it’s great for the mind. When it’s just me and my thoughts for 30-60 min I find I get like a “mind reset” of some sort. There’s also a sense of accomplishment for me in doing something so boring lol

What makes you disagree with it?
@bbxtreme said most of my same why. But the most generic reason is I had a better look with more food and higher cardio than lower food and minimal cardio, and this goes for most others I know (pros and shitty genetic people). I also think cardio helps a lot with lower body separation, you just have to be careful to not burn off size you can’t afford to.

Looking back now I changed my stance on cardio. It definitely has made a huge difference in the past when it came to fat loss. I remember getting to my leanest condition at 158lbs natural significantly smaller doing 40-60 min cardio a day and a lot of steps. I was eating 3500-3700 calories and losing fat easily. I felt great too, maybe slightly hungry towards the end of the week. Without the cardio I’d struggle to lose fat eating half those calories.

After reading Luki and slesh posts I’m definitely implementing daily cardio back into my routine.

I got trained by Phil back in 2017. It was one set per muscle group full body, everyday with some Bosu thrown in. I thought I would lose tons of muscle. I didn’t. In fact, back then I was doing “TRT” of 300mg a week. I had been for years. I’ve never stopped that style of training, and I’ve dropped over the years to 70mg of test prop a week for TRT. I’ve maintained majority of my muscle, and I am healthy. I have a kid who is my priority now. I walk for cardio, and I do run occasionally because I love it. My right shoulder is completely arthritic at this point so putting more mass on isn’t gonna happen for me. Is Phil’s training and diet recommendations going to get you in the Olympia, probably not. Can it get you lean and muscular to where people are going to notice? Yes. It works, but people should probably do what allows them to hit their goals, and maintain that goal over time without struggling to be consistent. Consistency over time is what pays
