Anyone ever get persistent braing fog/dizziness?

You may or may not be aware, but one of the common side effects for telmisartan is dizziness.

Also here is something else worth looking into. I was getting similar dizziness and lightheaded feelings combined with weird feelings of anxiousness and nervousness. I narrowed this down to too much tuna consumption with high levels of Mercury.

Mercury is known to screw with a lot of functions in the brain, including anxiety, blood pressure regulation, and balance and more.

Mercury in vivo portends nothing good. Fortunately, there's a simple test...draw blood for mercury +/- other heavy metals if you suspect being chronically exposed to various other heavy metals. If caught fairly early, heavy metal toxicity can be chelated and removed from the systemic circulation with little if any problems. However, long term heavy metal toxicity in the blood can cause irreparable damage to virtually any organ b/c where does blood in the body? :lightbulb:

I'm going to give what you are suggesting a try.

It's worth mentioning I take Cialis too most days and some days a little extra. I will stop that for now other than if I really need it. Obviously that raises NO.

I also looked at foods I consume every day that all boost NO which could be adding to it (beet juice, leafy greens, nuts, berries, dark chocolate). I will not have beet juice either for now.

My BP these last few days has been averaging about 114/57 or so. Diastolic is always low because of my AR. This isn't a new thing though.

I never even considered too much NO but I probably consume too much anyway. Who knows.

That sure is a WIDE pulse pressure.

I'm not sure if I missed it, but have you seen a doctor?

Melatonin, huh. I’m taking 3mg before bed. I’ll try stopping it to see what happens. I take it with both Telmisartan and Nebivolol too (for what it’s worth, webmd doesn’t show interactions bet melatonin and BP meds but I won’t take melatonin tonight).

I operate on the supposition that Dr. Wickedpedia and Dr. WebMDuh are either wrong and/or missing important medical details for condition XYZ.

I'd be interested in knowing what the cause of this might be. Of course, you are wanting to know too. Something isn't adding up. Hope you find out soon

Well I got some good news kind of. Had my echocardiogram and the leak isn't nearly as bad as I feared. In fact, it actually showed minor improvement in 3 months (wtf?) which isn't even possible. Last time was moderate to severe and now it's mild to moderate. Go figure. I am not out of the woods obviously but I guess I won't be needing surgery for a while.

Bad news is I am still dizzy. I am going to try to wean off Bystolic despite the fact it isn't causing me to have hypotension. The doctor actually said it could take two weeks for the sides to go away, which I was surprised about. I am not convinced it's that but we will see what happens. Some days I take 15mg (like I'll take a tab if I don't like what my heart rate or BP says) and that might not be such a good idea.

So my diagnosis is nice, but the mystery continues.

Your ejection fraction is good then too, right? Wondering how much it is affected by the valve issue.

I think you have said before that your resting heart rate is normal and you don't suffer from a lot of arrhythmias?

EF is 65% like always. Never had any arrhythmias before. If the valve was affecting that, I would get it replaced like, yesterday. But it's not at that point which is good.

Resting heart rate has been nice and below 60 on Bystolic but I want to be able to lower my dose and keep it that low. I tried stopping for a couple days and had a bit of a rebound. I'm going to lower back down to 5mg and see what happens.

Where does one begin? Hmmm.....either one of the cardiac echo techs is "subpar" at best or one of the cardiologists barely reviewed the echo.

It's always doom and gloom with you. How could you even possibly know without seeing my echo yourself. Sounds like I have a few days to live according to you. Luckily, every cardiologist and surgeon I've seen thinks otherwise. Bedside manner needs serious improvement bud

Never alluded that your time would be up in a few days or weeks. Is it possible? Sure but very, very highly unlikely. Is it possible for me to be involved in a highway accident with an 18-wheeler? Sure but highly unlikely. That being said, the LVEF, tenuous degree of AR bordering on surgical intervention, past med hx, Hx of present condition, signs/sx's, & current meds should elicit further critical thinking and analysis of the entire clinical picture. :lightbulb:

It’s amazing you just assume I haven’t been doing all of that already for years now. Maybe you should ask me those individualized questions first before making assumptions and potentially erroneous doomsday diagnoses. Let’s just say I know a lot more about myself than you do, given you haven’t seen any of my echocardiograms for the last 5 years.

Anyways, let’s move on.

Never assumed that for a nanosecond and never made any dx's. Be that as it may, I do sympathize and understand your frustration which is not at all unreasonable.

Thank you. I do appreciate your knowledge

have you checked your blood sugar throughout the day, and at times when you are feeling really dizzy?

It may have nothing to do with blood pressure.
